Students' Perception About The Use of Code-Mixing to Communicate in English

Code-mixing is mixing of two or more languages in one sentence. The lack of English communication ability in students is a common problem. This study aimed to analyze students' perceptions of the use of code-mixing to communicate in English. This research is categorized as a qualitative research. The data collected through interviews. The participants of this study were 6 English students at UIN Gusdur Pekalongan. The data analysed by using Miles and Huberman analysis technique and used narrative inquiry. The results of this study reported that students had positive perceptions with using code-mixing and students considered that code-mixing could provide them to improve their communication skills in English Language.
