Moral Values in The English Textbook Entitled "Bahasa Inggris : When English Rings a Bell" By Kemendikbud For Seventh Grade of Junior High School

The title of this undergraduate thesis is “Moral Values in the English Textbook Entitled “Bahasa Inggris: When English Rings A Bell” By Kemendikbud for Seventh Grade of Junior High School”. This research aims to analyse the types of moral values in the textbook and know how the author conveyed the moral values in the textbook. This thesis uses some theories, which are the theories of Hornby, Tomas and Lickona, Richard ayre, and Suseno. "Morality" is the moral code or code of conduct that guides and motivates people to live morally right lives. In addition, moral values aim to promote human dignity and protect individual freedom through the application of law and custom. This research used discourse analysis to analyse the data. The qualitative research method with the descriptive method was used by the researcher doing this research. The research design uses document analysis. The data source in this research is the English textbook for junior high school in seventh grade. After analysing it, the results of this research are found in some of the moral values, which are: respect, honesty, sympathy, tolerances, responsible, self-discipline, and kindness. Then, moral values conveyed by the author in the textbook are through written dialogue, pictures, and reading text.
