Crisis Reporters, Emotions, and Technology: An Ethnography

The interrelations between the factual and the fctional narratives,
together with their functions, are explained in detail in the section called
“Creative Nonfction and the Research Method” at the near end of the
text. It is important to stress at the beginning, however, that the fctional
narrative, frst, does not in any way diminish or relativize the authenticity
of the data, and, second, is not an end in itself. Furthermore, to anticipate
the inevitable question “who speaks?” it needs to be said that the interpretations of the data and the work with the scholarly literature are almost
entirely a product of my mind (which, in turn, is a product of diverse
authors and factors).
